Everyone has hope for a preferred future—what is yours?
Work-life balance has a way of catching us off guard. We’re not necessarily talking about a ruinous thing, although you might be thinking that is your current situation. No, more of what we are speaking about is the significance of something not yet realized—the greatness of a potential to come.
Do you feel like you’re being tossed you back and forth, that you have no control over the current situation you find yourself? Perhaps you’ve reached a point where you are wondering what lies ahead in in future. As you think about your current situation and consider the future, you might ask yourself, “Surely the future must hold something better than the current situation, right?” Then you think, “But how do we go from where we am to where I hope to be?”
Whatever your current situation is, know that there is hope. You’ve heard it said, “Yesterday’s the past, tomorrow’s the future, and today is a gift.” However common a wordplay it may be, it is true, today is a gift. Perhaps that is why it is called the present. You cannot change the past, but you can make a difference today, and tomorrow. You can, however, press on toward the future and believe in a better tomorrow, but you also have to put feet to it, you have to engage.
As cliché as it sounds, the best is before you. Dare to dream. Dare to believe. Dare to engage.
